UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Twin Lakes is hiring a part-time Community Program Educator!
The Community Program Educator will lead and manage education programs, initiatives, communications, and services with the goal of providing resources and materials to help families and youths make healthy choices. They will oversee partnerships, committees, and collaborative initiatives, and collaborate with leadership on strategic goals and outreach.
This is a hybrid position that works primarily daylight hours but includes some evening/weekend shifts for community events. When not in the field, the incumbent will work remotely. Flexibility with schedule is required to accommodate community events and speaking engagements.
Responsibilities:
Designs and implements evaluation tools for program effectiveness. Coordinates information dissemination through media, state-wide emails, lectures, health fairs, and other requests. Represents the organization at community events and professional organizations, committees, conventions, and other events. Manages education program delivery to employees, agencies, community organizations, the general public, and health care providers. Assesses community needs to determine appropriate training needs. Maintains a system to collect, analyze, and report information on programs presented, materials distributed, and contacts made throughout the service area. Provides regular reports on education efforts. Coordinates with leadership to obtain grants and corporate funding; assists in developing and writing grant proposals. Manages operations, budget, communications, staff, and project/program development. Recruits volunteer educators from various organizations (e.g., local and county health departments, hospitals, physician, nursing, pharmacy, EMS organizations, school nurses, public libraries, and community-based organizations) to increase the number of events held and people reached.
