Job Description:

Coordinates all activities related to market strategy and achieving marketing targets. Specific marketing responsibilities include advertisement production, management of website and social media content, inventory of promotional materials, management of literature, and digital display program. Coordinates the implementation of the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Action Plan and other community health initiatives. Specific community engagement responsibilities include, coordinate itemized CHNA action items, managing donation and sponsorship requests, coordinate participation in community events, and track the community benefit resulting from these activities.

Major Responsibilities

In coordination with the Manager, Business Operations, develops an annual marketing plan which identifies short and long-term marketing and communications objectives to promote a wide variety of initiatives enhancing customer brand loyalty, furthering the positioning strategy of the organization, driving revenue to the bottom line of the organization, and ensuring relevant, targeted messages are delivered to appropriate consumer, business decision-making, and physician referral audiences.

Collaborates with Manager, Business Operations and GHS marketing team to design, develop and implement effective marketing and communication projects that support business objectives and organizational initiatives and enhance the company image and Gundersen Health Systems on a local, regional, and national level.

Develops, implements, and monitors project plans, schedules, estimates, budgets, specifications, and performance measures.

Identifies and coordinates internal and external resources to complete marketing and communication program objectives. Ensures activities and programs are completed and executed accordingly within designated scope, timeframes, and budget. Orders and maintains inventory of promotional items for internal and external use. Works with Department leaders to support initiatives and needs for promotional items.

Furnish marketing advice, counsel and general staff support to all departments within the hospital. Consistently meets with Department leaders to share marketing strategies, and also receive feedback on marketing opportunities.

Develops relationships with community leaders, businesses, and civic groups.

Assist in planning of any event that highlights hospital services. In collaboration with the Administrative Team, reviews recommendations from Department Managers for areas of growth.

Works with Manager, Business Operations to prepare annual forecasting. Works with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely billing in response to invoice questions.

Leads or participates in planning and organizing community events. Maintains supply and salary expenses as budgeted.  If these metrics are not met, is able to justify what factors contributed and communicates that with CFO.

Attends minimum of 75% (3 of 4 quarterly meetings) of the regional marketing meetings. Implements the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Action Plan utilizing internal resources, staff, and external organizational partnerships.

Analyzes population health opportunities and creates strategies to supplement the CHNA Implementation plan as needed.

Consistently obtains market data and has the ability to interpret primary and secondary research that evolves into successful marketing and development strategies.

Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments. In coordination with manager will complete the annual Community Benefits survey.  Will be responsible for the writing and distribution of annual Community Benefits Report and submitting the Community Benefit stories.

Provides support to cross-department and quality teams in the facility through communication and marketing support.

Develops literature and brochures with text and design that is readable for patients and beneficial to their care experience.

Receives and coordinates donation and sponsorship requests. Determines the best medium to deliver messages to reach appropriate audiences, internal and external using the latest technology, (including monthly newsletters, media relations, printed materials, electronic media, social media) outreach, advertising and awareness, education, and personal connections.

Manages social media pages with postings scheduled on average daily, with a minimum of a post at least every other day.

Manages company website, including updating content regularly, at a minimum twice monthly.

Responsible for signage content and presentation throughout the facility, including digital signage.

Public speaking and coordination of other’s efforts to present to volunteer organizations and committees regarding public relations, marketing and development.

Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.

Active in the Chamber of Commerce or other applicable community organizations and appropriate professional organizations.

Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business or a related field

DESIRED

Master's degree in a related field

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

5-7 years in corporate marketing, strategic planning or business development

DESIRED

2 years’ experience relating to upper-level decision makers.
