JOB PURPOSE: Initiates collaboration with healthcare sites and worksites to provide education and technical assistance to implement systems change consistent with Breastfeeding Friendly Designation.

Shift Differentials, just to name a few.JOB SUMMARY: Community Relations Liaison is a full-time position funded by a grant from the NYSDOH to work on deliverables of the Breastfeeding, Chestfeeding, and Lactation Friendly NY initiative. The Community Relations Liaison is responsible for implementing breastfeeding/chestfeeding/lactation supports and policies in health care settings, worksites and public spaces. This position also co-chairs the Capital Region Breastfeeding Coalition and provides support to development and marketing of lactation support groups. This position works to fulfill sustainability and communication activities, reporting and record keeping and developing and maintaining relationships with community partners with similar goals and objectives. Additionally, the position is responsible for devising innovative strategies for addressing breastfeeding related disparities in the field of lactation support and amongst vulnerable and diverse populations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education B. S. degree required in Public/Community Health, Health Education, Counseling or a health-related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience 4 years' experience providing training and education and experience working in or with a healthcare setting. Some knowledge of breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and lactation support is preferred. Lactation support credential not required, but helpful.
Training Computer knowledge and efficiency required.
Licensure New York State Driver’s License required.
Other Requires excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills.
Reports to: Department Director
Relationship with: Department Director, Manager, Project Assistant, Community Health Program department staff, healthcare providers, Breastfeeding Coalition, and regional partners; various SPHP departments and staff.

Pay Range - $25.85- $30.04
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.”
