The Community Pharmacist provides excellent pharmaceutical care and ensures a positive patient experience to a diverse patient population in a dynamic outpatient pharmacy setting. The pharmacist works alongside other skilled pharmacists and technicians to achieve optimal patient therapeutic outcomes through optimal and cost-effective drug selection and patient education.Collaborates with other Health System and Community Health providers to ensure optimal and cost-effective drug selectionDispenses timely and accurate prescriptionsProvides drug education to patients or their caregivers that are transitioning from hospital to homeProvides pharmacotherapy education to patients, caregivers and providers.Promotes cooperative work environmentEnsures positive patient experienceProvides clinical services to community patients, including immunizations, MTM and initiation of drug treatments as allowed through Virginia Board of Pharmacy Statewide protocolsPerforms pharmacy functions according to Federal, State and local Health System and Department regulations and published guideline documents.Supervises pharmacy techniciansEngages in professional self-developmentSupports the education and professional development of the Pharmacy departmentLimited weekend and holiday staffing requirementsIn addition to above job responsibilities, other duties may be assignedPosition Compensation Range: $52.46 - $83.94 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Job requires standing and traveling for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
