We are looking for someone dedicated and caring to join our team as a Community Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing support and advocacy to individuals accessing mental health services. We want someone who believes in helping others through support, education, and encouragement, and who can build good relationships with both the people we serve and the local community while promoting the recovery model of treatment.

Since 1973, Chestnut has grown to almost 800 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Illinois and Missouri. We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Responsibilities Provide consumer-driven services identified in treatment/recovery/safety plansPromote the recovery model of treatment, including trauma-informed care, by empowering consumers and utilizing recovery languageFacilitate referrals, linkages, and advocacy to community resources, including hospitals, community agencies, court systems, and moreFoster positive interactions within Chestnut and the communityProvide services in settings where clients feel most comfortable, like their homes or community spaces Qualifications Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services, education, psychology, or related fieldCertified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) a plus.A valid driver’s license and car insurance.Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn/use electronic medical records (EMR).
