Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and activities for clients, coordinating with other practitioners and agencies, and mentoring Community Support Specialist I staff. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality mental health services and ensuring clients receive the support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize advanced knowledge of behavioral science principles to support clients in their home and community environment.Use a supportive educational approach to promote improved functioning and encourage recovery.Establish and manage a caseload, coordinating with supervisory staff.Participate in staffing of clients to identify problems and establish treatment goals.Provide rapid aid in cases of emotional crisis and comprehensive follow-up to clients.Serve as backup for Community Support Specialists when necessary.Engage in committee work, team meetings, and resource share sessions.Provide mentorship and guidance to assigned Community Support Specialist I.Follow Operational Guidelines and professional code of ethics.Contribute to staff development activities and assist with management needs such as data collection and program evaluation.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

18 months of experience at the organization as a Community Support Specialist I is required.Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other human services specialized field of study; orBachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and two years of related work experience; orAny four-year combination of higher education and two years of related work experience; orAssociate’s of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support will also fulfill educational requirements; orFour years of qualifying experience, which must include delivery of services to individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.

Additional Qualifications:

Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record is required.Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.Must have reliable means of transportation in order to transport clients in personal vehicle.Proof of valid and current auto insurance is required.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
