What you’ll do as a Transition Services Specialist:

Acts as a liaison between Rite of Passage and the Placing Agency.  Develops and maintains professional relationships with Placing Agency staff, ROP Case Managers, Career Coordinators and all community – based contacts. Provides mentoring/counseling for students, clients and family. Researches employment and educational opportunities for clients.  Develops and maintains positive relationships with regional career path employers, high schools and colleges. Interfaces with the community to secure employment for clients.  Provides clients with guidance in preparing for employment and teaches interviewing skills. Provides life skills training (i.e. shopping, meal planning, budgeting, active parenting, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

21 years of age BA/BS in Human Services or related field preferred or relevant licensure/certification. Background in dealing with placement agencies. Knowledge of community resources available to clients. Knowledge of licensing, Placing Agency and ROP policies. Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License
and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
