Overview
Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our quality team. You would be the Quality organization and supporting activity leading to FAA Conformity Inspections. The Conformity Inspector will perform First Article and Company Conformity inspections. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in First Article Inspections, Quality System and Product Audits and working with regulators and their delegates. This role will involve close collaboration with Quality Engineering and cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. Responsibilities
Core function will be performing First Article and Company Conformity Inspections. This includes a specific focus on the following, including methods and results.
Specification requirements: listed for each item to be validated
Test plan requirements: All manufacturing, and article requirements listed for each item to be validatedQualification of personnel: For work steps, peer checks, inspections, and validations Training of personnel: Authorized per drawing, specification requirements, or training planCalibration records: Documented records match the tool informationEquipment Qualification: Qualification records or inspection resultsDemand traceability: Visual Inspection of physical marking/Work Order/Demand to aircraft configuration requirementsGeneral Visual Inspection: No obvious damage and functions as expectedECN: Part number and revision, approvals completeAudits technical records, supporting airworthiness of aircraft, aircraft parts, and components in compliance with 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 21.Preparation of Form FAA 8130-9 Statement of Conformity to be submitted for FAA Conformity candidate articles, products, and aircraft Required Minimum 2 years manufacturing inspection or auditing role in a aviation / medical fieldCommunication skills regarding regulatory matters.Ability work at various sites for multiple days (30%)Knowledge of aircraft configuration management Desired Prior Aircraft Inspection ExperiencePrior DMIR delegation
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $66,560 - $96,200/year. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
