Compensation and Benefits Manager
JOB PURPOSE (JOB SUMMARY): The Manager Compensation & Benefits is a key member of the LALA US Human Resources Team, and is responsible for the design, implementation, communication, and delivery of our strategic broad-based compensation programs in order to support the execution of our growth and people strategies. Our compensation programs are a key component to our ability to attract and retain high performing talent. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: + Provide consultative compensation support for multiple business units through a highly consultative approach to design, modeling, implementation and reporting on global broad-based compensation programs. + Analyze and evaluate market data, monitor business conditions and legal requirements, and promote industry best practices to ensure continued internal equity and external competitiveness of compensation. + Provide thought leadership on compensation programs and practices, linking them to overall business strategy. + Partner with payroll processing provider to ensure team members are compensated timely and accurately and in compliance with all applicable laws and collective bargaining agreements. + Manage broad-based compensation programs, including base salary structures, bonus plan design, global programs and philosophy, maintaining and managing our enterprise job catalogue and creation of new job evaluations. + Develop and deliver robust compensation communication and training for business leaders and HR Business Partners to support base and variable compensation programs as well as adherence to national and local regulatory rules. + Develop and implement HR policies and programs to ensure ongoing compliance in multiple states. + Conduct research analysis, identify design alternatives, and model cost implications for proposed compensation changes. + Partner with finance and operational leaders to establish the annual people budget, provide monthly reports on actual people costs, and manage SG&A spending. + Manage overall compensation programs and strategies to offer a competitive total compensation package to recruit and retain talent. + Establish short-term incentives, long term incentives, and sales incentive programs in alignment with global compensation strategies and execute. + Lead annual merit increase process. + Complete market job valuations, establish and maintain pay bands, complete internal equity analysis, and complete annual salary survey. + Complete ad hoc analysis regarding compensation as requested. + Manage projects for various compensation initiatives, create project plans, lead meetings and create process flows. + Seek opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of the company’s compensation programs. + Recommend new strategies which attract and retain current and prospective employees. Develop retention tools as appropriate. Benefits + Lead overall strategy to ensure a competitive offering for all non-union employee benefits, reviewing and suggesting revisions and new programs as needed. + Manage day-to-day administration of medical, dental, vision, 401k, life and AD&D, short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, and employee assistance programs. + Partner with external broker to lead annual benefit renewal negotiation process. + Complete all relevant filings and ensure benefits compliance (5500, ERISA, Section 125, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, etc.). + Serve as 401k plan administrator (day-to-day oversight of plan activities), main point of contact for annual 401k audit, and 5500 filing. WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE: + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources / Business Administration / Finance, or other related field preferred (equivalent experience with demonstrated track record of success can also be considered) + 10+ years’ experience in compensation, designing, implementing, and managing compensation programs in fast moving organizations. + Experience leading compensation program development and implementation projects + Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for analytics & modeling. + Experience working with HRIS (Exponent HR preferred) + Experience leading compensation program development and implementation projects + Exceptional project management skills and can effectively balance competing priorities and driving key projects from concept to implementation.
