Compensation & Benefits Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering and managing employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing excellent support to employees regarding their benefits inquiries. This role is crucial in promoting employee satisfaction, engagement and retention by ensuring benefit offerings are competitive, meet employee needs and aligned to organizational goals. · Manage the enrollment, changes, and terminations of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. · Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA requirements. · Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, claims processing, and plan changes. Provide guidance on benefits options and enrollment processes. · Collaborate with benefits vendors and service providers to ensure effective service delivery and resolve any issues that arise. · Develop and distribute clear and concise communication materials to educate employees about their benefits, open enrollment, and any changes to the programs. · Maintain accurate records of employee benefits enrollment and usage, and generate reports for management as needed. · Conduct informational sessions and workshops to educate employees about their benefits options and how to maximize their value. · Assist in the assessment of current benefits programs and recommend enhancements based on employee feedback and industry trends. · Researches and evaluates third-party benefits vendors; may participate in selection and implementation of providers Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. · Minimum of 4 years of experience in benefits administration or human resources. Preferred 6 years of experience. · Strong knowledge of employee benefits legislation and best practices. · Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. · Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. · Certification in benefits administration or human resources (e.g., CEBS, PHR) is a plus.
