The Manager, Compensation is a key member of the Human Resources team and plays a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s compensation programs. Contribute to the compensation philosophy, strategy, and policies for the organization. Provides expert compensation consultation to HR Business Partners and institution management. The manager is responsible for providing day-to-day direction to the Compensation Analyst including but not limited to salary survey submissions, compensation reporting (i.e., job code maintenance, salary ranges), and Market Pay system administration. The Manager, Compensation collaborates with Director, Compensation, and senior HR Leadership to develop and administer effective compensation strategies that attract, develop, and retain employees.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and recommend strategies and programs which support the achievement of institution objectives regarding compensation programs. Provided guidance on competitive pay practices, organization design, FLSA determination, new program implementation and recommendations on ancillary pay practices. Lead programs and special projects (i.e., Compensation System Implementation, Competitive Market Analysis). Support annual salary planning activities including but not limited to, testing, training, data audits and processing. Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, salary structure development, and job benchmarking/slotting. Manage relationships with compensation survey vendors. Manage a job analysis and documentation process that enables the assessment of internal equity and provides the foundation for pay management. Analyze and update compensation infrastructure such as job classifications, job hierarchies, competitive benchmarking, and pay ranges. Support the development of compensation administration policies, procedures, and processes that are easily managed. Conduct audits and provide reports which monitor compensation practices to ensure consistent administration and compliance with compensation policies and applicable laws. Manage communication strategy and education to both management and employees on the link between performance achievement and reward practices. Train and provide advice and guidance to HR Business Partners and line managers in the effective use of the compensation programs. Provide direction to Compensation Analyst on the design, maintenance, and delivery of compensation programs and policies. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five years of compensation experience required. Minimum of two years of management experience required. Must have strong quantitative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with ability to research and analyze diverse types of data. Ability to take complex data and create concise, user-friendly analysis. Highly proficient in MS Excel, and proficient in Word and PowerPoint. Experience with HRIS systems Excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team-driven environment as well as in an autonomous manner. Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-changing environment. Experience utilizing compensation theory, principles, and practices to perform independent analysis of programs using market data. Immunization Requirements It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment.
