Overview Sunday River is looking for a Competitions On Hill Operations Manager. This position is Full Time Year-Round. The Competitions On Hill Manager needs to be ambitious, love the mountain lifestyle, have a positive “get ‘er done attitude” and be passionate about providing exceptional guest service. This position plays a crucial role in managing on-hill competitions at Sunday River, involving responsibilities for setup and teardown, as well as leading the on-hill crew. It is essential that the candidate adapts quickly to changes and makes swift decisions to ensure the competitions run smoothly while working and communicating operational needs to the Competition Administrative Manager. The manager needs to collaborate and work to have a successful partnership with Gould Academy while aligning in a shared vision of supporting the growth of athletes in the valley. Outside of competitions, the manager supports the implementation of events that occur year-round at the resort in coordination with the Event Manager. This position reports to the VP of Skier Services. The manager will develop a detailed team member training program and implement procedures and programs that enhance the competition experience. Responsibilities Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Sunday River products, services, resort amenities, promotions, and events, including a variety of pricing rates, discounts, special promotional days, and special events or happenings at the resort. Coordination of competition result publication administrative manager. Make sure Course/Events setting and preparation are completed in a timely fashion. Set-up and maintenance of all timing equipment. Schedule Team Members throughout on hill setup positions. Focus on team member development and schedule ongoing training opportunities. Maintain all relevant venues for safe training and competition. Communicate competition needs with VP of Skier Services and Competition administrative manager. Thank every guest for visiting Sunday River and display a “we want you to come back” attitude. Respectfully use team member benefits as they are outlined in resort policies. Contribute to team effort by participating in job sharing; assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; sharing insights from guest interactions and ideas for improvements; accepting diverse assignments; maintaining a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all team member and guest interactions. Work with the competition administrative manager to uphold trail homologations Help facilitate timing of races/meets Make sure course/events setting and preparation are completed in a timely fashion Maintain all venues for safe training and competition Ensure safe transportation of all equipment to and from venues Maintain a neat and professional appearance, work area and common areas at all times. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Willingness and ability to learn technical and practical skills required for job; Race timing systems, course setups Must be able to pass United States ski and Snowboard Association level 1 Chief of Race examination. Passion for excellent service, a desire to grow within Sunday River and make difference as part of our team. Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred. Enjoy providing high-quality service in an accurate and thorough manner.
