The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (BMP) protects the public's health and safety by assuring that the people who practice medicine or as an allied health professional are competent, ethical practitioners with the necessary knowledge and skills appropriate to their title and role. The Board regulates over 40,000 health care providers and annually issues over 3,500 new credentials and investigates over 1,100 complaints. The BMP enforces statutes and rules for the regulation of people who practice medicine or as an allied health professional including acupuncturists, athletic trainers, genetic counselors, naturopathic doctors, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, and traditional midwives.
The Complaint Review Unit Supervisor directs, manages and supervises the Complaint Review Unit investigations and compliance team consisting of 10 professional and administrative support employees. The BMP has oversight and jurisdiction for licensed healthcare providers under Minnesota Statutes Chapters 13, 147, 147(A-F), 148.7801-7815, and 214.
The incumbent ensures all complaints made against a Board-regulated healthcare providers are investigated under proper statutory authority, with thoroughness and expediency, and all corrective actions and disciplinary orders are properly enforced.
**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Four (4) years of experience with investigations, regulatory or administrative licensure, or complaint/quality assurance matters related to health care professionals. Bachelor's degree in a health, medical or legal field such as health services administration, hospital administration, organizational leadership, public health, or criminal justice may substitute for one year of experience.
+ Supervisory or lead worker experience, including assigning and directing work and facilitating, evaluating and reporting on staff performance.
+ Experience leading projects and teams.
+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, conceptualize, analyze, manage, and resolve complex situations.
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate complex issues and solutions to diverse clientele.
+ Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Juris Doctorate degree.
+ Knowledge of the licensed/registered health professionals.
+ Ability to interpret and apply relevant statutory and regulatory requirements for licensure and disciplinary and corrective action compliance requirements.
