About the job:
Kent is hiring a Completions Lead to help oversee a long-term Commissioning; Construction Project in Port Arthur, TX within our CCSU business unit, working closely alongside our client and reporting to/working with the Technical Services/Engineering Manager.
Skills and Responsibilities: Reports to the Technical Services / Engineering Manager.Supervises the Smart Completion Data Base (SCDB) Resources Interfaces with discipline leads and client personnel.Provides completion statistical input into all applicable progress reports.Owns System Completions Data Base and manages content in conjunction with discipline leads.Provides management and revalidation for a brownfield project.Collaborates with the execution and client teams to ensure a safe and effective execution of Systems Completion activities and to ensure all Systems Completion contract requirements are met. Responsible for coordinating and executing Systems Completion activities required by the Systems Completion Plan.Ensures Commissioning team is fully engaged with the Systems Completion Model. Supervise the development and implementation of mechanical completion checklists to verify that all mechanical activities have been completed before moving to commissioning. Develop and maintain punch list register (a list of items that need to be completed or corrected before the mechanical system is considered fully complete) and ensure that all items are addressed promptly.Owner of the hand over dossier ensuring that all mechanical completion documentation is prepared, signed off, and ready for handover to the commissioning team. This includes verifying that as-built drawings, systemized drawings, equipment certificates, and inspection reports are complete and accurate.Facilitate the issuance of mechanical completion certificates, confirming that all mechanical work is complete and meets the required standards.Prepare detailed mechanical completion reports, documenting the status of mechanical systems, work completed, outstanding issues, and areas requiring attention before commissioning. Ensures alignment with Project Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement and Start Up/Operations.Subject matter expert and resource to the Project pertinent to Systems Completion activities.Leads development of the Systems Completion strategies, execution plans and procedures.Establishes Integrated Systems Completion Team organization by developing resource plan and identifies staffing needs at key project phases.Applies Systems Completion Lesson Learned from previous projects.Manages Systems Completion interfaces between all parties to facilitate successful mechanical completions, commissioning and hand-over.Regularly update clients and project stakeholders on the status of mechanical completion, addressing any concerns or requirements that may arise.Act as a liaison to resolve issues between the project team and clients, ensuring that the mechanical completion phase stays on track.Assists in the seamless transition of the facilities from Project to Operations. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: College / University degree and/or technical diploma or 15+ years of Project Completion and Operations experience.Previous successful management experience during Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, and Operations planning.Demonstrated experience in greenfield and brownfield projects. In-depth knowledge of Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.Strong understanding of Project execution, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning & Completion practices.Demonstrated management and organizational ability for large teams with strong people skills.Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking.Exposure to client practices, processes, and expectations with respect to Systems Completion, Preservation, Commissioning and Start Up operations.Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as required to function effectively within a project team and to communicate with project management, contractors, and sub‑contractors.
Communication:Full fluency in English is required. Behavior/ Core Competencies:Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the departmentMust be able to work on-site in a construction environment with a safety first mindset
