Complex Maintenance Manager

Manages all maintenance, utility, environmental, facility wastewater and project engineering activity at the facility. Provides direction to all engineering and maintenance personnel to ensure a reliable manufacturing environment for the plant.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

\n\nDirectly supervises all salaried personnel in the engineering, maintenance, and    utility areas to ensure that all personnel have the tools, information, and direction to perform their jobs.\nPrepares and maintains the maintenance and utility budget.  Oversees weekly, period, quarterly, and annual results and reconciles differences with plant management.\nDirects the development and perpetuation of the Computerized Maintenance Management System to ensure the production equipment, support equipment, and facility are efficiently maintained and operated for long term optimal performance.\nDirects the development of employee training programs, daily work content, etc. to ensure that maintenance personnel attain and retain the skills and technical information necessary to maintain the production and support equipment for long term optimal performance.\nCoordinates all environmental reporting to State and National Agencies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.\nOversees plant improvement, construction, and repair projects.\nReviews all capital additions and changes in plant layout for their impact on maintenance.\nArranges for the procurement of outside contractors to carry out specific maintenance and repair assignments as necessary or when economically justified.\nManages the plant’s energy program.\nMeets regularly with USDA to ensure plant and equipment are following USDA guidelines and regulations.\nDirects the plant GMP training of all maintenance employees.\nDirects plant safety activities from an engineering perspective.\nEnsures all guarding, plant utility systems, and maintenance practices meet OSHA regulations and company guidelines.\nMeets regularly with production departments on problems concerning equipment reliability and/or maintenance.\nPerforms other duties as assigned. \n\n

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

\n\nUnderstand the basics of Managerial Supervision & Leadership\nPractical knowledge of CMMS, PMC for Windows and ASE maintenance system.\nKnow the principals of basic maintenance management, i.e., inventory, preventative maintenance, and control of work.\nAbility to control inventories of parts and manage a parts room\nUnderstand basic accounting and the budgetary process\nManage Ammonia refrigeration, PSM, and Boiler operation and control\nUnderstand and comply with all state and federal regulations\nBackground in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Industry\nKnowledge of HVAC, Compressed Air, Power Distribution, and Fire Systems Preferred\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite\nBilingual English/Spanish preferred\n\n

Education & Experience:

\n\nBS Degree in Engineering Preferred, or related field or equivalent in training and experience\nTen years’ experience in maintenance and engineering activities\nHVAC Certification preferred\nExperience using SAP and CMMS Computer Systems preferred\n\n
