Overview M Health Fairview has an exciting opportunity for a Complex Scheduler at the M Health Fairview Oncology Clinic located in Maplewood, MN. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state! The M Health Fairview Maplewood Oncology Clinic is a growing and collaborative clinic. Our clinic hours are 8AM to 4:30PM Monday - Friday, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This provides an excellent work life balance! This is a casaul opening, meaning there are no guaranteed shifts and the position is not eleigible for benefits. Responsibilities Job Description Job Summary: Schedules a large volume of complex procedures and coordinates new patient consults and follow-up as well as any other medical appointments ordered by providers to ensure high level of patient and physician satisfaction. Schedules special and complex procedures at practicing hospitals. Prepares schedules for physicians that work at outreach clinic sites. Works to streamline scheduling processes and assists supervisor with providers’ calendars. Keeps physician meetings organized and updated. Ensures smooth patient flow, improved patient access, coordinates physician availability, monitors and facilitates results reporting. Ensures smooth patient flow, improved patient access to appointments in our system, coordinated provider availability, quick responses to referring providers, acquisition of patient records, and excellent communication (both written and spoken) with incoming patients and families. Reports to Clinic Supervisor or Manager. Job Expectations: Oversees and schedules office appointments and special procedures performed at practicing hospitals, following current scheduling guidelines using multiple computer systems. Communicates additions or changes to the schedules to the physicians, nurse clinicians, lab, medical records, front desk/reception and office staff as appropriate Prepares schedules for the physicians and updates calendars Helps coordinate office activities, recommends process improvements and informs supervisor of areas that need attentio Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served. (as applicable) Performs other duties including Performance Goals developed by manager and employee Qualifications Required Education: Knowledge of General Medical Terminology, including specialty, Knowledge of medical office procedures, including scheduling and patient registration, and EMR. Experience: One to three years of procedure scheduling or medical support experience. Template scheduling, medical records and patient registration experience. Proven experience practicing good public relations, customer service, time management, prioritization and patient communication skills. Preferred Education: Healthcare or business related degree and excellent medical terminology of specialty and related areas.
