Description Position Title: Reg E Specialist Line of Business: Card Operations What does the LOB do?: The team handles Reg E disputes (debit card disputes), investigate, track and close out disputes. Reverse or finalize credit to the client. Target Start Date: March 3rd, 2025 Job Description: Reg E focused Specialist to assist with Reg E disputes processing and other related Card Operation tasks to ensure regulatory compliance. Responsible for investigating and resolving customer disputes related to electronic funds transfers (EFTs), like debit card transactions or ATM withdrawals, ensuring compliance with the rules outlined in Regulation E of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA) by promptly reviewing claims, gathering necessary documentation, and providing timely resolutions to customers while adhering to regulatory timelines. Key responsibilities of a Regulation E Disputes specialist might include: Handling customer inquiries: Receiving and reviewing customer disputes regarding unauthorized or incorrect electronic transactions. Investigating claims: Gathering evidence from bank records, merchant information, and customer statements to verify the legitimacy of a dispute. Applying Regulation E guidelines: Ensuring all dispute processing adheres to the proper timelines and procedures outlined in Regulation E. Provisional credit issuance: Providing temporary credit to customers' accounts while investigating a disputed transaction, when applicable. Communicating with customers: Clearly explaining the dispute process, providing updates on the investigation, and notifying customers of the final resolution. Fraud detection: Identifying potential fraudulent activity within disputed transactions and reporting suspicious patterns. Documentation and record keeping: Maintaining detailed records of all dispute cases, including supporting documents and communication logs. Required skills and knowledge: Understanding of Regulation E: Thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations governing electronic fund transfers. Customer service skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a professional manner, especially during challenging situations. Analytical skills: Capability to analyze complex transaction details and identify potential errors. Problem-solving abilities: Ability to assess disputes, gather relevant information, and reach timely and accurate resolutions. Compliance awareness: Understanding of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements. Team is made up of 3 FTEs who are focused on disputes and a 4th individual who focuses on issuing cards and a manager. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
