Swift strives to operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Swift’s Compliance team has the mission to make that happen. We oversee regulatory tracking activities, assessments, advice, and report on regulatory risk; we also take ownership of numerous compliance domains, develop and oversee internal policies, manage regulatory control frameworks, assess and mitigate risk, report and give assurance.

The Compliance team is looking for a Compliance Assurance Specialist with extensive experience in governance, risk and control (GRC); compliance and controls frameworks; compliance reporting; compliance culture and communication. The Compliance Assurance Specialist will report to Swift’s global Head of Compliance. Amongst other things, the Compliance Assurance Specialist will
Oversee Swift’s Compliance framework and methodologies
Maintain a repository of compliance controls and related information such as risks, evidence, issues, owners and actions
Manage Swift’s compliance roadmap and pipeline
Oversee Swift’s company-wide policy framework
Maintain an Assurance Map across the Compliance team
Act as a point of reference for monitoring and assurance queries
Manage monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting
Track, develop and improve metrics to assess success and compliance risk
Drive innovation and help innovate Swift’s compliance tools.
Liaise closely with Swift’s other 2nd and 3rd line assurance functions
Contribute to Swift’s compliance culture and trainings
Manage and coordinate specific compliance projects.
Assess the effectiveness and compliance of relevant controls The role Compliance Assurance Specialist is expected to take initiative and responsibility for building out and the dedicated Compliance Assurance pillar in the Compliance team. The role offers growth and learning opportunities. The selected candidate may be expected to travel 10-15% of their time.
Skills & Qualifications
A Bachelor/University Law degree or equivalent with relevance to Compliance
A deep understanding of governance, risk & compliance frameworks and a solid understanding of laws and regulations arising in the context of Regulatory Compliance
Professional English language skills
Experience with regulatory frameworks, relevant risk indicators, and identifying and implementing compliance controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Impartial, open-minded, respectful and at ease with ethical dilemma
Trustworthy and respectful in handling confidential information and sensitive cases
Experience of operating at various levels within the organisation (e.g. senior levels, remote employees) and with external vendors (such as law firms, authorities, third-party vendors)
5+ years of relevant experience in compliance-related activities and roles
Organised and passionate for continuous improvement and high-quality work deliverables.
Inclusive, collaborative, delivery-focused and with strong stakeholder management skills
Operational excellence skills (e.g. capable of building relevant reports, continuous improvement mindset) & project management experience
Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-moving environment
Strong communication skills (written and oral) and strong presentation skills
Familiarity with reporting to governance bodies and authorities
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and can demonstrate independence of judgement and autonomy
Process-driven mindset, capable of designing and applying procedures in their day-to-day activities
Comfortable in navigating databases & tools
Experience with providing training
