Compliance Director – Citizens Private Wealth Management (RIA, Brokerage, Trust)

This is a high impact senior position within Citizens Private Wealth reporting to our Wealth Management Chief Compliance Officer. This newly created role is responsible for creating and executing a strategic plan to address evolving compliance and regulatory requirements related to brokerage, investment advisory and trust supporting Wealth Management.  Responsibilities include:

This leader will serve as the Principal Compliance Officer for a portfolio of regulations related to  investments/wealth management/trust activities within Citizens Private Wealth. Providing compliance advice, oversight and challenge, the leader will ensure that business leaders understand the existing and emerging regulatory requirements impacting their business and appropriately account for the risks. The incumbent will be accountable for enterprise compliance policies related to the portfolio of regulations and for ensuring the business line and Compliance has the appropriate risk appetite and key risk measures to support compliance. In addition, the leader will provide active oversight of related issue management, complaint handling and business line risk and control self-assessments and formulate regular opinions of the state of compliance for the portfolio of assigned regulations in Compliance Risk Assessments.This leader will ensure the appropriate programs are in place to complete “horizontal” risk assessments of compliance with specific regulations/regulatory themes, and will work with management to create a forward-looking view in terms of how to assess emerging compliance risks. The role requires a strong leader with good communication skills and an ability to drive change.  This leader will support a pronounced change agenda by embedding experts and relationship managers who can understand the business needs and apply strong compliance risk management practices and culture.  The leader will ensure appropriate talent is in place to execute on the compliance programs and support continuous learning and developing and succession plans, with a focus on building a highly-skilled and diverse team. Additionally, this leader will spend time managing relationships with regulatory agencies and industry, including keeping pace with industry and peer networking.

Required Qualifications:

Experienced compliance leader with expert knowledge of banking laws and regulations (minimum of 10 yrs applicable experience).Demonstrated track record of innovative and progressive means to address emerging compliance trends. Strong relationship management and collaborationDemonstrated leadership experience and ability to embed a strong compliance management culture.  Ability to leverage compliance data analytics for consumer products, including AI/ML and demonstrate actionable guidance to business partners.Dynamic verbal and written communications, varied by audience (regulators, C-suite, internal teams)Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or equivalent 

Desired Qualifications:

FINRA Series 7, 24 JD preferred Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification or equivalent is preferred.

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-F 8:00-5:00

Pay Transparency 

The salary range for this position is $159,680-$225,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
