Job Title: Retail Compliance Food Protection Supervisor

General Function:
Facilitates the Hy-Vee food protection program with assigned retail stores to provide guidance and address questions or issues on food safety to help facilities remain in compliance with regulatory requirements and Hy-Vee standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct routine food safety and sanitation assessments of assigned stores.Prepare and communicate individual store report based on assessment identifying food protection and sanitation issues.Assess and insure store compliance with OSHA requirementsTrack and measure results of assigned storesPrepare monthly and quarterly summary reports.Provide support to project managers during remodel and new store construction projects.Participate in preliminary and final health department inspection to obtain proper licenses for new stores and remodels.Follow up on state inspections to insure serious violations or non-compliance are corrected.Provide food safety and sanitation training and coaching to store staffSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, normal depth perceptions.Must be physically able to perform light work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 20 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking for extended periodsMust be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are generally performed in a general office setting but will also require work in retail food locations. There will be some exposure to food handling equipment and processes, temperature extremes from walk-in coolers and freezers, and cleaning chemical products. There will be occasional pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Standard equipment used in an office environment including telephone, copier, FAX, microfilm copier, and PC with typical Office programs. Operation of company automobile (valid driver’s license required).
Financial Responsibility:
Manage specified budget items as assigned per corporate guidelines.
