Compliance Implementation Accounting Analyst III

As part of a hard-working, and accomplished team of experts, you will be positioned to drive best-practice financial reporting controls in the Finance Transformation journey towards standardization and sustainable compliance.  You will support the accounting and finance teams by providing mentorship and developing/executing tools and processes in support of sophisticated government compliance and accounting activities. This position will also support the continued building of a strong internal control framework that focuses on self-assessments to identify and correct gaps. You will use your prior experience and critical thinking skills to seek continuous process improvements and ensure effective internal controls are in place to mitigate the company’s regulatory and financial reporting risks. Success in this position is crucial to realizing Blue Origin’s goal of lowering the cost of access to space.

Responsibilities:

Using your technical accounting expertise to lead the definition of best-practice financial reporting controls.Interpreting gaps to reporting controls– understand impact, root cause and action needed to bring about improvement.Leading translation of observations into an executable planProviding advice on the efficacy of the action in meeting the objectives of control standardsBuild partnerships and maintain positive relationships with all relevant senior management and their teams.Support annual contractor business systems and internal controls self-assessments. Review the self-assessment program annually and make required revisions.Implement and lead a governance program founded upon consistent, ongoing measurement and monitoring of compliance risk.Regularly deliver timely, meaningful, and actionable conclusions regarding the efficiency of processes and controls that meet regulatory, policy and program requirements and effective risk management.Build and maintain an oversight and monitoring framework focused on comprehensive monitoring and identification of relevant emerging topics and risks, prioritizing, or incorporating new priorities as appropriate with ongoing re-prioritization as necessary.Establish the framework and mechanisms to operationalize objectives with proactive team member engagement and feedback, communicating strategy, progress and timelines, developing and tracking action plans.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, and preferably a CPA or CMA5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or government accounting.Knowledge of main government standards and framework, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), financial reporting, and US GAAPConfirmed knowledge internal controls and their relationship to financial statement accuracyStrong written and oral communication skills; building positive relationships and collaborate with team membersAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $93,240.00-$130,536.00

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
