Compliance Manager
Overview The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all affordable units adhere to the regulatory agreements. This involves preparing and reviewing income certifications for move-ins, initial and annual certifications, ensuring affordable compliance according to Gates Hudson’s policies and procedures, and using Gates Hudson affordable compliance software to make necessary updates. The CM will conduct all job related duties in compliance with regulatory and program requirement guidelines, other housing contracts and equal housing opportunity laws. The CM will be responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all affordable Program requirements and will embody a customer service philosophy whereby the clients, residents, managers, and site associates are their customers. Responsibilities The CM will conduct all business in accordance with Gates Hudson’s established policies and procedures, all Federal, State, County and Local Fair Housing Laws, Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA requirements, and all other laws pertaining to multifamily housing. Review and audit resident files and Gates Hudson affordable compliance software for various affordable programs. Complete Tenant Income Certifications and ensure proper documentation is in the file and in the Gates Hudson affordable compliance software. Submit all move in applications and 1st year AR’s to compliance department for review Provide feedback to property manager & regional manager on status of pending re-certifications to ensure timely completion within 60 days of the effective date. Maintain waitlist and/or Process and review applications to ensure compliance accuracy prior to sending to corporate compliance for approval. Provide daily phone and e-mail support for properties regarding Gates Hudson Affordable software and other technical programs. Maintain good communications with external compliance auditors and resolve issues and/or discrepancies quickly and accurately. Assist with meeting reporting requirements to external entities. Perform property file audits as needed Any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent. A LIHTC/Affordable Housing Certification, i.e. HCCP, C3P, TCS Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an onsite leasing consultant/compliance/manager. Three (3) years of experience in LIHTC/similar affordable housing communities. Yardi Affordable & Rent Café Affordable Housing experience recommended (not required) Bi-lingual preferred, not required (Spanish/English)
