Compliance Manager
Responsibilities Building Information: Hunter’s Point South, which is comprised of two buildings consisting of LIHTC and workforce housing units, one with 37 stories and 619 units and another with 32 stories and 306 units, for a total of 925 apartments on the waterfront in Long Island City next to 11 acres of new waterfront parks: Related is seeking a Compliance Manager to join their team! Responsibilities include: Monitoring and implementing changes in HUD, state/local agency and LIHTC rules, regulations and requirements Maintaining proper maintenance of tenant files and computer records to ensure accuracy and compliance with LIHTC rules and local agency regulations Determining financial eligibility for all new admissions into the affordable program and completing the initial certification of applicants in compliance with LIHTC and state/local rules and regulations Processing new applicants and monitoring/maintaining affordable housing waitlists in compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements Managing the preparation and response to all agency and investor audits related to affordable housing compliance matters Maintaining initial program and recertification compliance in keeping with LIHTC and local agency requirements, including the completion of initial certifications/TICs and leases with applicants and ongoing recertifications with in-place tenants on an ongoing basis Monitor and review reasonable accommodation requests and compliances in conjunction with the legal team Performing training programs to educate and inform the site teams of any updated requirements and responsibilities Remaining familiar with LIHTC, HUD, and state and local agency rules and regulations, as well as federal, state and local law, as they relate to affordable housing programs Completing any required monthly, quarterly or annual reporting, including but not limited to LIHTC annual owner’s certifications Managing and overseeing an affordable housing compliance specialist who will assist the manager in completing the above-listed duties Compensation: $$85,000 - $90,000 + Discretionary Bonus Benefits: Personalized Health Care: Multiple medical, dental, and vision plan options; Employee Assistance Program Financial Benefits: Competitive salary and incentive packages; matching 401(k); FSAs and HSA; employer-paid life and AD&D insurance; paid leave & disability programs Social Wellness: 19+ days of PTO; mental health counseling & resources; fertility, surrogacy, and adoption assistance; volunteer days and donation matching Career Development: Learning & training programs; tuition & certification reimbursement; internal advancement opportunities Qualifications 4-6 years’ experience with LIHTC, HUD and/or other affordable housing program compliance, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with NYC HDC Working knowledge of HUD 4350.3, reasonable accommodation requests, LIHTC rules, including but not limited to income limits, rent calculations, and TIC processing, fair housing rules, ability to obtain real estate sales license A deep sense of community awareness and a determination to make improvements Proven ability to build trust with members of a community with different backgrounds, motivations, and concerns in order to obtain information and solve problems At least one widely-recognized affordable housing compliance certification, including but not limited to TCS, COS, AHM, TaCCs, and HCCP Notary Public License (or obtain within 3 months of hire date) Overview Related Management Company (RMC) is the leading innovator in managing real estate as an owner/operator.
