About this opportunity: This position is REMOTE and will be located in the U.S. in the Eastern time zone.
As the compliance attorney for NewCo, you have an exciting opportunity to build the compliance function from the ground up. You will be responsible for setting up a program to identify, prevent and mitigate compliance risks, including any potential violations of laws, as well as developing a compliance code of conduct and ensuring compliance with that code. You will foster a culture of ethics and integrity. This role will partner with the Ericsson Compliance Office and with the NewCo business to develop a compliance program in line with business needs and strategy.
What you will do:
Develop and lead NewCo’s ethics and compliance program and foster a culture of ethics and integrity Provide expert advice, practical solutions and counsel to business leaders and legal colleagues on compliance related matters, including well thought-through insights and proposed solutionsAnalyze data to make data-driven decisions and recommendations for compliance solutionsAssess and manage risks relating to non-compliance of laws, including anti-corruption and anti-money launderingLeverage outcomes of ethics and compliance program monitoring, testing, and other assurance activities and evolve and adapt as needed the program components while ensuring that any process gaps are fully remediated and operationalized as expectedPartner in conducting compliance-related investigations and remediation, including personnel discipline and process improvementsManage, directly or through external advisors, day-to-day compliance program operations, including screening and management of third parties, actual or potential conflicts of interest, expenditure risks and engagements with public officialsEngage and oversee outside counsel and outside advisors as neededTo be successful in this role you should have:Commercial, Customer and Business Acumen:
A proven track record of successfully partnering with senior business, commercial and functional leadersA willingness to develop a deep understanding of NewCo’s business, including insights into the priorities across all functional units and where Compliance can contribute and enhance business impactStrong commercial acumen to review commercial projects and identify and mitigate compliance risks presentedKnowledge of the telecom industry; communication platform services, communication APIs and related ecosystem is a plus
Compliance Experience
Demonstrated strong compliance background, including establishment of programs and managing a variety of compliance tasksExperience in the design and implementation of strong and effective governance structures in an agile business environmentDemonstrated ability to implement and where appropriate adapt Ericsson’s global compliance program to address NewCo’s specific requirements, issues and challengesAn understanding of data analytics and ability to distill and analyze raw data and convey to stakeholders usable or actionable informationAbility to support practical governance and risk management, providing precise advice, enabling smart decisions while ensuring transparency on risksThe ability to take ownership for and lead complex compliance problems and projects as well as drive sustainable business solutionsSuperior analytical and problem-solving skills; solutions-oriented; able to balance short and long-term priorities and strong strategic thinkingExperience developing a compliance program from scratch is preferredExperience with a National Security Agreement and/or monitorship is a plus

Minimum experience and education requirements
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in CompliancePrevious leadership experience in a Compliance function preferredJuris Doctor degree and a license to practice lawFluent in EnglishInternational experience and cultural awarenessWillingness to travel and work across time zones as needed

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
• Washington, DC: $159,800 - $215,000
STV: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s 401(k) plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and up to a 4% company match, leading to a maximum company contribution of 7% annually. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided up to 40 days of paid time off per year, including 15 days of accrued annual vacation, 3 personal days, 11 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 1 volunteer day. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Those with additional vacation time at the end of the year may sell one week of vacation, equal to a week of pay. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of maternity/medical leave, 6 weeks of paternity or adoption leave at 100% of pay, and medical leave at 100% or 66 2/3% of pay, based on length of service.
