Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Compliance Specialist ensures infusion pharmacy, office and nursing operate according to relevant laws and regulations. Responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures for process improvement in order to meet accreditation standards. Conducts audits of medical records and prepare reports of findings. Ensures appropriate policies and procedures are in place in accordance with accreditation requirements. Completes audits and reporting in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Assistant Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services, Office Supervisor and Clinical Nurse Supervisor by auditing medication records and performing tasks to ensure pharmacy's services and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state and local laws related to health and safety of patients, as well as relevant bodies of accreditation. Ensures adherence to procedures. Detects and prevents errors and other quality problems. Appropriately investigates and takes corrective action. Coordinates Performance Improvement plan activities, such as infection control and patient satisfaction improvements. Continually checks pharmacy's policies and matches them to standards to comply with accreditation requirements. Performs other pharmacy-related tasks as requested or required. Prepares quarterly and annual reports with audit results and statistics. Applies common sense and understanding when carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Deals with problems involving several variables in different situations. Completes appropriate certification and/or licensing requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times according to HIPPA. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. Completes annual and as needed HealthStream courses, competency skills checklist, sets and achieves professional goals, actively pursuing growth and development. Cooperates with colleagues and supervisors to provide optimal customer service. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. Complies with all organizational policies and procedures regarding ethical business practices. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital and the pharmacy. Demonstrates quality, independence and effectiveness in work ethics. May work a unique schedule as needed.
