Compliance Specialist
Job Description

To provide robust regulatory compliance advice, guidance, and support by monitoring processes and related controls in accordance with compliance methodology and minimum standardsControl expenditure and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costsSupport the central function by assisting in developing of policies, procedures, frameworks, and tools with specific focus on relevant risk legislation, for the benefit of the larger organisationProvide an advisory service and consult with business to recommend controls and processes to ensure legislative complianceDevelop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialisationDisplay and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivityParticipate in planned activities that are appropriate for own developmentProvide input into the development of the tactical strategy, and develop and implement a supporting operational strategyCompile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisionsEnsure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processesManages risks in own area of responsibilityBuild working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovationDeliver customer experience excellence in own service delivery aligned to Organizational values and service standards

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification - Postgraduate or Honours Degree in a business-related discipline or in AuditingPreferred Qualification - Masters Degree in a business-related discipline or in AuditingExperience - 3 to 5 years experience in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at a junior specialist levelAdditional KnowledgeIndustry Expertise – Compliance Specialists must be authorities in the industries in which they work and often have a history of working in the industry in another capacity before becoming Compliance Specialists.Deep Knowledge of RegulationsInterview, Investigation and Auditing SkillsFinancial services industry with experience in specific aspects of regulations like Financial Crime, Data Privacy and Protection, Market Conduct, Risk Management, Compliance Monitoring and EvaluationJob Details
