Compliance Specialist
Compliance Specialist Department: Compliance Reports to: Compliance Manager Location: Liverpool, NY Full-Time: A typical work schedule is standard business hours, with the flexibility required to handle escalations or support during peak times or special projects. Pay Schedule: Weekly Pay Non-Exempt: Compensation starts at $42,000 to $55,000 annually, depending on experience Benefits: Begin the first day after the first two full months of employment Position Summary The Compliance Specialist supports the compliance team by managing key compliance initiatives, including overseeing the Records Management System (RMS), coordinating evidence for certifications, and ensuring adherence to control frameworks. This role also assists in maintaining and improving security frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO. Essential Duties + Support the ongoing management and improvement of security frameworks, such as HIPAA, NIST, SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO. + Help implement new processes or update existing frameworks to meet evolving regulations. + Collect and organize evidence for certification audits (SOC 1, SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST, ISO) and provide timely, accurate documentation. + Monitor compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and certification requirements. + Conduct regular checks to ensure alignment with established guidelines and frameworks. + Track and maintain compliance controls, ensuring tasks are completed within deadlines. + Assist in managing and improving security frameworks, implementing updates as needed. + Assist with managing the Records Management System (RMS) to ensure accurate, organized, and accessible documentation for audits and reviews. + Prepare for and support internal/external audits by gathering documentation and addressing gaps. + Help develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards. + Organize employee compliance training, track completion, and maintain training records. + Prepare and distribute regular reports on certification status, compliance activities, and issues requiring attention. + Assist in organizing and coordinating compliance training sessions for employees. Maintain records of training completion and ensure all employees understand their compliance responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications + Education: Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Business, Compliance, or a related field. + Experience: 3-4 years in compliance, records management, or a related field. + Experience with implementing, managing, or maintaining cybersecurity initiatives. + Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and records management software. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred + Six Sigma certification or knowledge of lean methodologies. + Knowledge of transactional printing.
