Compliance Supervisor

Position Overview

GEICO is seeking a strategic and dynamic leader to serve as Supervisor on Regulatory Examination Management team. In this role, you will lead, coordinate, and enhance our compliance program, with a specific focus on management of Regulatory Examinations (MCEs, MCIs, Financial Exams, etc). This position is critical in ensuring the organization's regulatory engagements are well-managed while also fostering a robust culture of compliance across all lines of business. The Supervisor will manage an elite team of Compliance Analysts at the corporate level and work cross-functionally with operational lines, legal, IT, product, and internal controls to ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage regulatory examinations and responses to regulatory inquiries for GEICO businesses, with specific emphasis on inquiries related to policy underwriting and rating activities, insurance products, and customer service handlingProvide training, coaching, and support to compliance staff as they research and analyze responses to regulatory examination and investigation requests.Supervise and provide guidance to a small team of direct reports, ensuring effective performance and professional developmentDevelop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to respond to, report, and monitor regulatory requests and findingsLiaise with business to support timely and accurate responses to regulatory requestsAct as a point of contact for RegulatorsProvide regular reporting to senior management, including status updates and escalationsAssist in developing plans for issue resolutionMonitor regulatory developments and advise business and support functions on compliance with such changesMaintain written records of inquiries, requests and responses, as well as any other documentation to facilitate the effective management of regulatory examinations and inquiriesComply with issues management processes for escalating and monitoring regulatory findingsPromote knowledge sharing and promulgation of best practices across GEICO Compliance organization and the businessCollaborate with Regulatory Relations colleagues across organizationsParticipate in special projects, as neededAdditional responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications

5+ years financial industry experience within a U.S. regulated financial institution, specific work experience with insurance-related federal and state regulations relating to product, underwriting, and rating practices preferredAbility to work independently, as well as prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environmentStrong critical thinking and analysis skills, verbal/written communications skills, and project management skillsExcellent organizational skillsExperience working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment, in a fully remote or partially remote roleProficient with Microsoft products - particularly Excel, Word, and Power Point

Education

Bachelor’s degree requiredJD preferredRelated professional designations (e.g. CPCU, AINS, MCM) or actively pursuing, preferred

Annual Salary

$82,000.00 - $157,850.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
