**Compliance and Support Specialist - Plant Ratcliffe** **Summary of Position Duties** The Compliance and Support Specialist’s primary focus is the safe and efficient management of the warehouse and inventory activities. This position serves as a primary contact between the warehouse, corporate Materials Accounting, and Supply Chain Management. The Compliance and Support Specialist is responsible for reviewing and optimizing stock levels, standardizing new item adds and monitoring returns to stock. This position will also coordinate blanket purchase orders while working closely with Supply Chain Management to ensure blankets are renewed, added, and removed as needed in a timely manner. It will also understand, follow and enforce company policies and procedures in compliance with MPC internal controls. This is a shared position with other compliance departments and will have additional responsibilities including, but not limited to, Environmental Compliance. **Primary Job Responsibilities:** **Materials Management** + Review and optimize stock levels identifying criticality of stock items (Critical Spares, Maintenance, and Consumables) with System Owners. + Coordinate system & OPCO sales + Facilitate disposition of obsolete material utilizing the obsolete procedure, while ensuring compliance with all internal controls. + Manage and conduct annual inventory counts; make adjustments or corrections as needed. + Serve as LPO Buyer for the plant; assist Supply Chain Management Buyer with material purchases; while following designated LPO Guidelines & Procedures. + Coordinate System vendor alliances, stocking and restocking programs, consignments, and buy backs with Plant personnel and Supply Chain Management, responsible for reporting/documentation relative to materials management. + Coordinate with Planning to provide material consistent with daily and outage needs; requisition and expedite orders as needed. + Stocking, staging, and receiving of all materials onsite + Responsible for achieving set inventory goals + Invoice reconciliation + HAZCOM Coordinator for the site **Cooperative Job Responsibilities:** **Environmental** + Maintain knowledge of current environmental laws and regulations as they apply to Plant Ratcliffe and use that knowledge to ensure compliance with permits. + Interface with regulatory agencies, assist in writing permits, and ensure notification of the proper agency in cases of non-compliance. + Recognize environmental issues that require attention and address them appropriately. + Ensure compliance with permits by monitoring equipment and interfacing with plant personnel and contractors. + Investigate non-compliance incidents, ensure notification of appropriate regulatory agencies takes place and direct the work activities of contractors and employees in emergency situations. + Coordinate projects, including interfacing with employees and contractors. + Develop and track short-and long-term budgets to ensure that necessary funds are available to meet current and future environmental needs. + Train plant personnel on compliance-related issues. + Write plant environmental compliance strategies, policies, procedures, action plans and guidelines. + Complete all required compliance self-audits and document appropriately in Maximo. + Coordinate Environmental Stewardship related activities. **Job Requirements:** + College degree in related field is preferred. + Experience in inventory management and control required. + Experience in material handling required. + Working knowledge of warehouse operations processes required. + Effective problem solving and analytical skills to evaluate and recommend optimum stocking levels. **Preferences:** + Experience with Maximo, Oracle, and PowerPlant software is preferred + Knowledge of purchasing, accounting and tax policies and procedures. + Working knowledge of plant operations and equipment is preferred. + Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred. **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with plant, company, system and vendor personnel. + Ability to create and coordinate vendor alliances and stocking programs. + Ability to manage multiple projects, requests, and deadlines. + Demonstrated team approach with the ability to work with employees at all levels. + Ability to lead and influence others to make the right decisions + Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, works well with others, builds and maintains positive relationships with coworkers, peers, plant management, and external customers + Well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously + Strong problem-solving skills + Proactive in problem identification and resolution + Ability to recognize and address critical deadlines in a timely manner **Behavioral Attributes:** + Exhibits Southern Company's values – Safety First, Unquestionable Trust, Superior Performance, Total Commitment + Accepts ownership of assigned projects and tasks + Works through conflicts to create win/win situations + Assumes personal responsibility for individual and company success + Demonstrates an ability to work with others + Must be a team player and possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude **Mississippi Power** , a subsidiary of Southern Company, provides clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to more than 192,000 customers and communities in 23 southeast Mississippi counties.
