Compliance Surveillance, Analyst

Job Description:

As a Compliance Surveillance Analyst within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk team, you will play a crucial role in protecting JPMorganChase's operations in Seoul. Collaborating closely with the Head of Korea Compliance and the APAC Surveillance team, you will conduct surveillance across various Lines of Business. Your responsibilities will be pivotal in supporting the Korea Cash Equities, Futures & Options, and FICC business, while simultaneously building professional relationships and enhancing your understanding of financial products.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyze system-generated alerts using trade and communication surveillance tools to identify potential policy breaches or regulatory violations. Collaborate with the team and escalate unusual or suspicious cases to relevant Compliance officers or Business counterparties. Ensure timely follow-up and documentation of escalated cases. Participate in market conduct investigations. Monitor regulatory changes and provide updates, advisory, and training to internal stakeholders. Assist in establishing internal control processes and updating procedures. Submit regulatory reports and manage regulatory examinations and inquiries.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Surveillance or Advisory roles within a bank, broker, or regulator. Proficiency in using surveillance systems such as PowerBase, SMARTs, Bloomberg, or Reuters. Strong knowledge of exchange-traded securities, listed derivatives, and related regulations. Understanding of market abuse scenarios and best practices. Ability to interpret trading jargon and market commentary for effective electronic communications surveillance. Excellent communication skills in both Korean and English, both oral and written. Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Self-motivated, fast learner with the ability to work independently. Strong team player with the ability to engage across all corporate hierarchies. Adaptability to work under time pressure and maintain consistent performance.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Experience in a global financial services firm. Familiarity with the regulatory environment in the Asia Pacific region. Professional qualifications from reputable training institutes or professional bodies.
