An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Component Design Engineer, who will support design activities for JSF LiftFan components in accordance with LiftSystem requirements. In this role, the candidate conducts analysis of component and system requirements and defines component design requirements, as well as any specific manufacturing requirements.

As the Component Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-time delivery and quality of component design definition artifacts i.e. documents, models, definitions that meet system level and sub-system requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

Execute new component designs and design changes through RR Process Change and Design Technical Approval processesDeliver technical solutions from concept through to implementation into product configurationDevelop and specify component design requirements in accordance with JSF module, system, and customer interface requirementsAddress manufacturing, assembly, in-field, and aftermarket issues as they ariseConduct design-based analysis in support of JSF LiftSystem technical issuesCreate technical documents to comply with process, knowledge management, information and data policies

Basic Requirements:

Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of design experience, OR;Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1+ years of design experience, OR;Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, OR;JD/PhD.To be considered for this position, you must be a US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements:

Familiarity with cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definitionExperience with generic design processes as well as component specific design guidance and design methods and practicesFamiliarity with Compressors Statics and StructuresExperience using computer aided design tools such as NXFamiliarity with Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T)
