We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Composite Tooling fabricator to join our team. Qualifying skills for the position includes , but is not limited to, detailing and preparing composite tooling master model surfaces for tooling prepreg and resin infusion layup processes. Applicant must be proficient in Hand lay up of dry fiber and prepreg materials and their associated methodologies. Your responsibilities will include building, detailing , sealing and releasing foam master model plugs in preparation for producing composite tooling. Additionally, you will take part in the preparation and assembly of steel and aluminum molds and fixturing.

Responsibilities Follow work instructions and/or engineering blueprints for tooling fabrication.Building, detailing, sealing, and releasing foam master model plugs in preparation for producing composite tooling.Prepreg and resin infusion layup for composite tooling.Metallic mold sealing and reconditioning. Assemble small to large metallic fixtures.Document all work performed per company and department requirements.Continually strive to further working knowledge by applying and documenting verbal and written instructions.Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.Consistently display willingness to work and communicate in a team environment.

 

Required High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.5+ years of experience of composite and/or metallic materials and their specific handling requirements. 3+ years of experience manual lathe and milling machining experience. Strong mechanical skills relating to assemblies are required.Familiar in hand lay up of dry fiber and prepreg materials and their associated methodologies. Manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools efficiently and effectively.Commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work in a safe manner.Effective communication skills and the ability to train /mentor new team members.Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.Able to become certified to wear a respirator.Ability  to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials.CNC Machining or programming experience is a plus but not required Desired

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $31-$36/ hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
