Composite Technician III
**Composite Technician III -** **Pascagoula, MS** **Job Description** + We are looking for an experienced Composite Technician III to join our team in a full-time capacity. + The role involves installing, repairing, and troubleshooting composite lamination and lay-up onboard US Navy ships in San Diego, CA with initial travel to Pascagoula, MS for the first month. + Our team supports various ship classes and types at multiple Navy installations along the US coastal areas. + This position demands a high level of responsibility and adherence to safety precautions due to the associated risks. **Responsibilities** + Undergo composite certification and qualification training. + Execute composite/installation trade repairs and modifications to shipboard composite structures as part of a small team. + Ensure compliance with applicable installation procedures and practices. + Complete and retain all required documentation in the project QA book. + Report daily progress updates to your supervisor or lead. + Adhere to all safety precautions and comply with local, state, and federal regulations for handling, transporting, and disposing of composite and hazardous materials. + Follow all shipyard, shipboard, and OSHA safety requirements. + Maintain quality standards associated with composite repair and installation as prescribed by the Composite Workbooks and Composite Owner’s Manual. + Read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and design notices. **Essential Skills** + Composite fabrication, sanding, and lamination. + Experience with composite materials and epoxy. + Ability to read blueprints and understand Navy installation procedures. + Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS-Office programs like Word and Excel. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in ship repair onboard US Navy ships (technical education may substitute for some experience). + Willingness to travel to Pascagoula, MS until the end of April. + Familiarity with NAVY Standard Items. + Ability to read, understand, and follow customer work item requirements and drawings. + Attention to detail and quality metric driven. + US citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (current active Secret clearance is a plus). **Work Environment** + Work involves travel to various Navy installations around the US coastal areas. Initial travel to Pascagoula, MS for the first month. The role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including shipyard, shipboard, and OSHA safety requirements. Physical condition to lift 50 pounds independently is necessary. Flexibility in scheduling is required due to the dynamic nature of Navy ship movements. **Job Type & Location** + This is a Contract to Hire position. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
