Responsibilities:Assemble payload systems Avionics harnessing, click bond applications, separation systems according to written procedures, engineering drawings and models.Application of various types of RTV and Epoxy bonding.Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipmentOperate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment will be requiredOperate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instrumentsIdentify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiencyClean as you go model is critical for all operations across Blue Origin.Assist with transition from development to production, including first articlesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenanceWork closely with a team, clean room operations, working from heightsAbility to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when necessaryOther duties as required for fulfilling the mission and our visionWorking 2nd shift hours (monday through friday: 2pm-11pm)Qualifications:High School diploma or GED1+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant fieldExperience in at least one of the following is required:Instrumentation and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assemblyInterpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test proceduresWork collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, disciplines, and backgroundsCommunicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in personBasic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areasPerform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 50lbsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:Experience working inside clean roomsExperience working on payloads, fairings, capsulesATF Certification for handling and/or installing explosivesExperience in handling/moving large aerospace componentsIndustry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related fieldProven success as a “hands-on” technical leaderWork effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilitiesContinuous improvement mindset.
