Compounder - Lab Assistant
Entry Level- Lab Assistant (Open to Recent Graduates or anyone looking to get into Pharma Field) Job Description As a Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for various laboratory processes including defatting raw materials, extraction, gross filtration, clarification, aseptic processing, dialysis, centrifuge operations, and making lab solutions/reagents. You will also handle inventory control, perform SAP related duties, and be cross-trained into aseptic filling operations after successful completion of training. Responsibilities + Defat raw materials by pulling ether, acetone, drying, and weighing out + Set up and clean extraction, gross filtration, and clarification equipment + Perform aseptic processing and dialysis (filling bags, emptying/cleaning dialysis tanks) + Operate Bock Centrifuge for molds/inhalants and handle Amicon DC-10 and Centrifuge DPR-6000 + Prepare lab solutions and reagents + Distribute FTQ paperwork and manage inventory control requirements + Perform various lab chores including managing scales, freezers, pH meters, pass through, nitrogen, and lab room assignments + Engage in freeze drying processes including loading reconstitution and cleaning + Handle ball mill for mite processing and perform dilution compounding + Execute SAP related duties including COR6N and goods movements + Cross-train into aseptic filling operations following successful PST media fills and full training + Perform any other assigned duties Essential Skills + Knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical, Biopharma, and Biological Science + Experience in laboratory and compounding processes + Familiarity with FDA and quality assurance protocols + Bachelor's Degree in a Physical Science or relevant laboratory/compounding experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + Biopharma experience is a plus + Go-getter with a growth mentality + Open to candidates without a college degree if they have 1+ years of experience in a laboratory setting Work Environment This role involves working with allergens, so candidates must not have allergies as they may have an allergic reaction during the manufacturing process. The working hours are 6:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with some training days starting at 8am. The position offers great medical benefits, PTO, and opportunities for career advancement. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
