In this role, you will independently conduct research data analysis in the areas of complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics. You will also develop analytical pipelines or computational methods, process, analyze & interpret data, and assist with research coordination. We offer work/life services such as... + Free financial and legal counseling + Free mental health counseling services + Gym membership discounts and access to wellness programs + Other employee discounts including entertainment, car rentals, cell phones, etc. + Resources for child and elder care + Plus many more! **Position Summary:** Under the supervision of senior personnel, this position is responsible for conducting research data analysis in the areas of complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics. **Position Key Accountabilities:** + Conducts research data analysis in complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics. + Collects and manages data from different sources and develops analytical pipelines and computational methods. + Process and analyze data to derive meaningful insights, interpret the results and effectively communicate findings. + Coordinates various research projects and ensure established timelines are met. + Assists with grant proposal development and manuscript writing. + Assists with preparing results for a written paper for publication, in a presentation at a meeting, or through personal contact with faculty members and other researchers. + Manages research protocols and computational codes. + Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Certification/Skills:** + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Familiar with at least one computer programming language. + Knowledge and skills in genomic data analysis. + Strong attention to detail, accuracy, scientific professionalism, and deadlines. **Minimum Education:** + Bachelor's Degree in genetics, statistics, bioinformatics or related field required **Minimum Experience:** + 1 year in bioinformatics, genomics, or a related biomedical data analysis, including single-cell sequencing required **Physical Requirements:** Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. **Security Sensitive:** Security Sensitive: This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215 **Residency Requirement:** Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
