Computed Radiographic (CR) NDT Technician I Job Locations US-OR-Hillsboro ID 2024-14169 Overview

The Radiographic NDT Technician I will assist and facilitate the testing of specimens using radiographic testing processes and procedures. In this role the technician will be responsible for providing reliable results while paying close attention to safety and project timelines.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Prepares test specimens, sets up and adjusts test equipment and records test data.
• Maintains related test equipment, tools, and machinery in good working condition.
• Works flexible hours and overtime when required.
• Completes data sheets/work orders using prescribed technology to include x-rays and comput-ers.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

(Technician must successfully pass Level I Testing requirements within the first (6) months in his/her position, as required by NADCAP checklist AC7114.)

Skills / Qualifications

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience within a related field.
Or
Completion of a two-year program of technical trades training in an applicable subject and/or
previous qualification or certification in at least one NDT method.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum experience level: 1-2 years of similar or related experience.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Experience with X-ray or Gamma Ray sources
• Radiographic Level I per NAS 410
• Experience testing some combination of: Welds, castings, steel, titanium and aluminum
• Experience using industry specs such as: ASTM E1 742, Boeing, GE, Honeywell and Pratt
• Ability to organize and document NDT results
• Familiar with testing codes and standards

Working Conditions

Position is primarily based in a laboratory environment. Technicians will be exposed to, but may not come in contact with, noise, dust, dirt, oils, and other industrial airborne particles.
