Computer and Network Infrastructure Lead Engineer

As a Computer and Network Infrastructure Lead Engineer, you will implement projects and upgrades to deliver Distributed Control Systems’ IT Infrastructure (Servers and Workstations, Networks, Virtualization, Software Deployment, and Cybersecurity) for process industry automation (such as Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil and gas, and Refining).

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, execution, and optimization of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring cybersecurity compliance with standards. You will lead technical teams, handle project risks, ensure secure system execution, and maintain high-quality standards. The role also involves fostering team development, mentoring engineers, and communicating optimally with customers to achieve project goals while adhering to timelines and budgets.


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

To support customer relations by assisting Project Leadership in handling and achieving customer expectations while serving as a technical advisor. To lead engineering execution by supervising FEED, design, configuration, testing, commissioning, and start-up/upgrade of DeltaV DCS and other Emerson software, ensuring efficiency and compliance with the project scope. To improve project delivery by implementing standard processes, methodologies, and prioritization strategies to reduce costs while meeting deadlines and ensuring quality. To handle project risks and schedules by providing detailed input on resource requirements, progress tracking, and risk identification for assigned engineering tasks. To act as a technical focal point by ensuring clear and effective communication between internal teams, customers, and third parties regarding scope, schedule, specifications, and quality standards. To manage security certificates to ensure cybersecurity compliance and secure project execution. To provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members to promote teamwork. To lead incident resolution and solving by diagnosing and addressing technical issues related to computer and network infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to project execution. To cultivate team development and high performance by promoting an inclusive and supportive environment, encouraging professional growth while maintaining project efficiency. Apply sophisticated solutions using machine learning, automation, and predictive analytics to improve network security, system performance monitoring, and failure prediction, to improve project outcomes and minimize operational risks.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field - Automation/Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Chemical Engineering. 7 + years of experience in IT infrastructure project execution, preferably for process industries with good technical knowledge of: Network & Segmentation. DCS & Industrial Automation. Virtualization. Windows Server Administration. Cybersecurity. Storage & Backup. Firewall & Perimeter Security. Patch Management. Monitoring & Troubleshooting. Cloud & Automation. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, managing technical teams and overseeing infrastructure or cybersecurity projects.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: 

Proficient in English with a third European language preferred (written and verbal). Computer literate (MS Office) with software programming skills. Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and principles, including machine learning, neural networks, and data analysis. Experience with AI-powered tools or platforms is a plus Willingness to travel with a European focus mainly for shorter periods (up to 25%) as required.
