Utah State University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications for an academic-year, tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in Computer Engineering. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in computer networking. Additional desired areas of research and teaching expertise include, but are not limited to:

The search committee will begin reviewing applications on October 15, 2024, and continue until the position is filled. For full consideration, applications should be submitted prior to that date. Possible start dates, coinciding with USU’s semester schedule, are January 2025 and August 2025.
ResponsibilitiesA tenure-track assistant professor is expected to develop and supervise a vibrant, externally-funded program of research and form inter-disciplinary collaborations with other faculty in the ECE Department and the university. The assistant professor is also expected to be an effective teacher at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels. The ideal candidate must be capable of obtaining externally-funded research, producing peer reviewed journal publications, recruiting and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, becoming an effective classroom teacher, and providing meaningful service to Utah State University, the citizens of Utah, and the profession.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. Doctoral candidates who will complete the PhD before the January/August 2025 start date are welcome to apply.The ability to conduct and disseminate research in areas related to computer engineeringThe ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in areas of computer engineering (software engineering; networking; cybersecurity; digital systems; and the candidate’s specific area of research emphasis) in accordance with departmental needsThe ability to apply for, and secure, ongoing external fundingPreferred Qualifications:

It has approximately 20 tenured/tenure track faculty, 100 graduate students, and 300 undergraduate students.
