**Job Summary**
The Department of Computer Science welcomes applications for the Computer Science Online Graduate Program Specialist (or Senior Specialist)! The successful candidate will serve as the advisor for online graduate students, currently MS students using the Coursera platform, within the College of Engineering and Applied Science at CU Boulder. This position is responsible for proactive outreach and communication to prospective and current students, under the guidance of the Program Manager, for the MS-CS (Master's in Computer Science). Additional advising and programmatic support may also be allocated to the MS-AI (Master's in Artificial Intelligence) degrees within the Department of Computer Science. This position informs students of their degree requirements and tracks their progress towards enrolling for credit in the degree program; supports the Program Manager to inform prospective students about the nature and content of the programs' curricula; helps prepare students to successfully enroll in their degree program, and provides outreach and recruitment opportunities to a diverse online community.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above for the Graduate Program Specialist, a Senior-level Graduate Program Specialist would also maintain their regular student caseloads, but will be assigned a greater scope of work and will be engaged in a higher levels of activities. This includes, but is not limited to, contributing in an expanded role by performing elements of service to the college and/or campus graduate advising or on-line teaching community.
The Computer Science Department (CS) is committed to developing collaborative, student-centered relationships between Graduate Program Specialists and graduate students that support achievement of academic success, and promote personal and professional development of students. The CS Online Graduate Program Specialist supports students through a developmental, student-focused approach. This position is charged with developing and implementing advising strategies and interventions to enhance the performance and persistence of students and support the graduate education mission of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence online programs in a scalable way. This position is tasked with facilitating and coordinating innovative recruitment and outreach strategies for a diverse, global online community, and will work with the Program Manager and Sr. Online Graduate Program Specialist to develop tracking for engagement, outreach, and ROI for prospective and enrolled students.

**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
_Outreach and Recruiting:_
+ Performs academic advising for online students within the department, consistent with current advising standards and protocols, with tasks including, but not limited to:
+ Tracking student progress by maintaining contact records and coordinating with the Coursera enrollment advisors.
+ Maintaining and updating the student inquiries database to improve the website and student communication.
+ Reviewing and processing student requests and ensuring students receive communication and responses in a timely manner.
+ Helping students with course registration issues as needed.
+ Serving as prospective online student liaison with the CS staff and faculty, presenting student petitions, as needed.
+ Serves as first point of contact for current students with questions or concerns. Assists students with problem-solving and campus resources. Advances appeals or grievances to the Program Manager as appropriate.
+ Creates documents/ systems that can support a large group of students to scale.
_Recruitment, Admissions and Communication:_
+ Collaborates with other CS department staff to ensure information on the graduate program website is accurate, compelling, and up-to-date. Keeps recruitment materials up-to-date.
+ Serves as the main point of contact in online recruitment meetings and collaborates on ways to reach a more diverse audience, including attending recruitment events.
+ Maintains the mscscoursera-info@colorado.edu email, regularly communicate with prospective students in a timely manner.
+ Sends regular messages through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, including deadlines, announcements, etc.
+ Conducts visual compliance of other mandated reports.
+ Assists in webinars and other recruitment efforts.
+ Advocates for student services and notifies students of upcoming opportunities, specifically to create community within the online student population.
+ Works with the CS team to develop and market innovative recruiting events for a global, diverse populations.
+ Assists in planning online student events, including graduation recognition ceremonies.
_Other:_
+ Supports the CS online program with their events, talks, diversity and inclusion efforts and other projects as needed.
+ Designs and coordinates student-focused events to promote a sense of community and increase retention rates among current online graduate students.
+ Helps the CS graduate program with other projects, as needed.
+ Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
+ Stays apprised and current on relevant University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
+ Participates in professional development activities and serves on unit, college or campus committees as applicable.
+ Recommends and implements process improvements to increase department efficiency.
+ Documents all processes and procedures making them accessible to team members.
**For the Computer Science Online** **Senior** **Graduate Program Specialist only:**
_Leadership and Service:_
+ Experienced career professionals in this position typically maintain their regular student caseloads but contribute an expanded role by performing elements of service to the advising unit, college, and/or campus advising community. A broader set of responsibilities may include (but is not limited to): serving in a mentoring capacity to newer advisors, leading committees or projects, serving as a work lead or team coordinator, serving as a resource for advising leadership, supervising student employees, interns, or administrative staff, etc.
**What You Should Know**
+ Normal business hours (i.e. 8:00 - 5:00, Monday-Friday) with some variability in the work hours due to the supported programs being fully online.
+ This position is eligible for remote work days and/or a hybrid work modality, consistent with the College of Engineering and Applied Science Hybrid Work Policy.

+ The starting salary range for the Graduate Program level is $55,000 - $60,320.
+ The starting salary range for the Senior Graduate Program Specialist is $62,000 - $66,560.

**What We Require**
_Online Graduate Program Specialist:_
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
+ One year of experience in advising, student services, or other relevant experience (i.e. program administration, marketing/communications, admissions, etc.).
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
_Senior Online Graduate Program Specialist:_
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
+ Three years or more years of experience in advising, student services, or other relevant experience (i.e. program administration, marketing/communications, admissions, etc.).
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
