Summary You will serve as a Computer Scientist in the TEST AND EVALUATION DEPT of UNDERSEA TEST RESOURCES, PLANNING AND COORDINATION DIV NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. GS-07 $56153 to $73003 GS-09 $68686 to $89290 Responsibilities You will use a number of standard engineering principles, methods and practices as necessary to adapt practices and techniques to specific situations, to adjust and correlate data. You will perform cyber analysis and risk mitigation studies on conventional but complex problems. You will develop software using a variety of programming languages, such as C, C++, JAVA, and C#, for complex, but conventional problems. You will make tentative and preliminary selection and adaptations of computer science and/or engineering alternatives. You will perform drafting and minor detail design; and searches technical reports for information required by higher level engineers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-09:In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Computer Scientist providing software support, and assisting with software operations that target the design and development of complex defense application software products. FOR GS-07:In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Computer Scientist utilizing basic techniques, procedures, and methods to accomplish developmental computer scientist assignments. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess FOR GS-1550 (Computer Science Series): Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science; - OR- Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours were in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
