Computer Scientist/System Administrator ATEC is looking for Senior-level Computer Scientist/System Administrator to support the Federal Avaiation Administration (FAA)'s system maintenance, integration, and installation of multiple complex computer systems for NAS Enterprise Services-Infrastructure Team. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Multitask on the following: + Upgrade multiple enterprise systems simultaneously: Vmware, Redhat products or COTS products. + Maintain complex applications in Linux environment (VMs or containers/Kubernetes). + Work on various system configuration and maintenance: (Active directory, Redhat, Cisco, hardware, Splunk client, Tanium client). + Some system automation using Ansible, Perl, Bash, power shells, Windows services. + Work collaboratively with a team or as an individual on assigned projects to meet multiple deadlines and deliverables. + Second level support for deployment and field issues. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Required: + Experience with Windows, VMware, Linux/Unix environment system administration + Experience with networking configuration + Experience with hardware setup + Experience with tools/ scripting languages for system automation such power shell, ansible, bash + Excellent communication + Able to multitask and work on multiple systems to meet tight deadlines Preferred (Any of the following is preferred but not required): + Experience with Tanium client, Splunk client or Tripwire + Experience with containers: Kubernetes or Openshift + Experience with network configuration (Cisco/Firewall/load balancer setup, Active Directory integration, versioning tools (git/svn)) + Experience with security administration of networked components to a defined baseline standard (NIST, CIS, STIG) EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: + Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twenty (20) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR + Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and sixteen (16) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.
