The Location

The Exchange is the innovative culinary destination in downtown Dallas, located in the heart of the AT&T Discovery District. Designed as a grab-and-go or a sit-down dining experience, you can savor freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner options with an expansive array of cuisines to enjoy, plus the best views of the Discovery District’s Media Wall, Plaza, and the Globe.

Responsibilities

We are seeking cooks to join our dynamic team in the Exchange food hall. As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, as well as providing quick and efficient service to customers in a variety of duties relating to fast casual culinary experience and maintaining sanitation standards.

• Prepare ingredients and execute recipes according to established standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
• Prepare food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures that proper food temperatures are maintained.
• Responsible for safety standards, neatness, and sanitation of work areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors, and drains.
• Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of product.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff members to coordinate cooking times and ensure smooth operations during peak hours.  
• Maintain proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware.   
• Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
• Adhere to company guidelines for appearance and uniform standards.

Qualifications:

• All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience working in a fast-paced casual dining with strong line experience for Ala Carte Service.
• Ability to interact with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards..
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions.
• Must be able to read, speak and write in English..
• Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
• Ability to work: extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays

Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: standing, constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have one year working in a fast-paced restaurant

 

Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
