POSITION: Concessions Worker

Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Concession Worker at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Under direction of the Director of Food & Beverage and the Food & Beverage Manager, the Part Time Concessions Worker’s primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with Shreveport Convention Center/ Municipal Auditorium standards.Greets Guest and visitors.Uses suggestive selling techniquesInteracting with guest, providing fast and friendly service based on the service standard of no more than 60 secondsCollects money and serves concessions items.Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks.Prepares food (such items as popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, pretzels, sandwiches, light entrees, desserts etc.…).Using sales system, accepting payment, and calculating change accurately.Responsible for cash balance and inventory balance at the conclusion of the eventProperly operates cooking, warming, and popcorn equipment.Stocks concessions and suppliesWatches for safety and or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons etc.) and reports to management.Inputs using sales system, accepting payment and calculating change accurately.Monitor inventory to keep operations flowing smoothly.Maintain a professional appearance at all times.Maintain a safe, clean, organized and stocked work area following sanitation standards.Maintain professional relationship with all coworkers.All duties are to be performed in standards and regulations as well as Company policies, practices and procedures.Follows direction of Captain and Management at all times.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities

Working Conditions
The working hours are scheduled based on the needs the facility. PART-TIME ON-CALL scheduling.There is no guarantee of hours on a weekly basis.Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to work as scheduled.Maintain a client service-oriented attitude.Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays and can work flexible schedulesNON-SLIP SHOES REQUIRED.
Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or olderExcellent customer service skillsMust be able to pass a background check to include a credit history report and meet corporate minimum requirementsMust be able to obtain a ABO Card and LATC PermitNON-SLIP SHOES REQUIRED.Education and/or Experience
At least one-year experience as a bartender, restaurants (with banquet facilities), convention centers or arenasExperience with upscale dining in a restaurant or similar type facility preferredHigh school diploma or GED preferred1-2 years' experience as a bartender in a high-volume restaurant, theatre, or banquet facility preferredSkills and Abilities
Good oral communication skills and the ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.Ability to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructionsAbility to communicate with all guests Ability to move, carry, push, and pull heavy bulk food products and containers from remote or separate storage areas. Sometimes this must be done quickly in order to keep shelves stocked.Excellent hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all mattersAble to understand directives and utilize basic mathematical skillsBe able to hear or lip read adequately.Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.Accurate cash handling and math skills.Computer Skills
