POSITION SUMMARYThe concierge position provides a personalized guest service experience, where the anticipation of guests' needs, and expectations are executed promptly. The Concierge is to be instrumental in creating guest experiences and executing service that is second to none. Consistently engage in conversation, relying on a professional disposition and personality.
The concierge position encompasses strong communication and organizational skills, essential problem-resolution skills, and active listening skills for all matters relating to guest concerns and concierge services.
The concierge staff is responsible for the following key areas on ship days: Information Center, Wave Runner Check-in, Pool Cabanas, Double Day Bed loungers, and the Luxury Beach Villas.
DIMENSIONS
Must be able to provide quality customer service to cruise guests during ship operation days. Ships calling on the island may have up to 4000 cruise guests. Work in a team environment encompassing other Concierge team members.NATURE AND SCOPE
The position will report directly to the Concierge Supervisor. The incumbent ensures that the assigned administrative duties are completed in a timely manner. Position requires ability to adjust to changing supervisor directions at a moments’ notice, depending upon the needs of the supervisor or other management. Regularly works under outdoor weather conditions and is routinely exposed to the sun, and extreme heat or cold. Works on uneven and/or slippery or sandy surfaces.
The incumbent must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment; also, must be able to adjust to changes in assignments, work areas and schedules.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO Coordinates guests’ special, out-of-the ordinary requests for island services. Handles guests’ inquiries and complaints and ensures that they are resolved quickly, courteously, professionally and to the guests’ total satisfaction. Dissemination of information to the guest Check guests’ in and out of the villas/Cabanas. Maintain and clean Beach Villa, Pool Cabana, and Double Day Bed Loungers (Ensure they are spotless) Document and log all lost and found on the island Clean the information/Front desk and island director’s office Ability to work independently, service-oriented and guest focused Clean and collect garbage from the village area on the island during non-ship days. Rake and pick up all food and or other solid waste particles from around the villas, Pool Cabanas Double loungers and other areas assigned. Wash and remove beach chairs and umbrellas after each ship call. Maintain record of all waivers and necessary Guest Service paperwork Basic computer software skills required. Clearing of the post cards pillar Distribution and collection of Island Locker rental Wrist bands on ship days Collection of activities tickets from the various guess service departments Performs related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a High School diploma in Tourism or equivalent Very strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, decision- making and interpersonal skills. Superior customer service and conflict resolution skills. Must be 18yrs and older. Sales Focused Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to retain information. Passionate about meeting and greeting people. Passionate about delivering high-quality, personalized service to guests. Knowledgeable about any location and/or product in the port. Must be knowledgeable about the country’s history, people, and other tourism products. Excellent English skills, (Spanish) are an asset. Flexible and stress resistance, team player, committed.
