Functions in the area of guest services. Responsible for taking care of the individual needs of the guest. Must be available for almost any kind of assistance a representative of the hotel can give. Each guest will receive VIP treatment from the Concierge.
**RELATIONSHIPS:**
+ The Concierge serves as a liaison between the guest and the hotel.
+ In many cases the guest will come to the Concierge for delivery of services from other hotel departments.
+ Much of the effectiveness of the Concierge will depend on the cooperation from management and from fellow employees.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Daily acknowledgment of hotel meetings, functions and hospitalities.
+ Daily knowledge of VIP arrivals.
+ Familiarizing themselves with In-house group meetings (pre-convention meetings in particular to know guests’ needs and possible requests.)
+ Troubleshooter for guest problems and/or complaints (representing management’s desire to satisfy the guest.)
+ Daily knowledge of the Rooms Forecast.
+ To have good working knowledge of all hotel departments and their functions.
+ Familiarity with emergency procedures.
+ Effective coverage of the Concierge Desk during the hours of 7am to 11pm daily.
+ Assist guest with inner-city travel.
+ An excellent knowledge of the city and surrounding area.
+ Be familiar with the Atlanta’s rapid transit system, MARTA.
+ Familiar with the points of interest (museums, parks, special attractions, etc.)
+ Arranging recreational and social activities for guest while in Atlanta (shows, tours, sports events). Keep an updated list of all current events.
+ Making reservations for The Americano.
+ Extensive knowledge of Atlanta restaurants.
+ Update the restaurant guide.
+ Providing readily available transportation services.
+ Assisting in car and limousine rentals.
+ Handling all requests for flower ordering and delivery.
+ An international and national hotel guide.
+ Recommending and arranging tour itineraries.
+ Following through with guest departure and return.
