Concrete Foreman - Civil Division

The Ruhlin Company is looking for a Concrete Foreman to be a part of our Civil division based in Columbus, OH.
Position Summary: Leads crews in the completion of various concrete projects varying in scope and size
Expected Outcomes:
+ All tasks assigned are performed in accordance with contract, quality and safety standards
+ All tasks are performed as efficiently as possible and within the allocated budget
+ Mentor direct reports to advance within the company
Position Responsibilities:
+ Direct crews’ daily work activities
+ Ensure crew has the necessary tools and materials needed to perform assigned work
+ Track labor hours worked and ensure crew members are paid appropriately and hours are accurately phase coded using HCSS
+ Completes takeoffs for concrete quantities
+ Schedules and orders all concrete from ready-mix companies
+ Report quantities
+ Interact with the superintendent and/or general foreman frequently to receive instructions and supply requested information (crew member times, task completion status, tool or material needs, etc.)
+ Comply with Company health, safety and general policies and protocols and ensure crew members and subcontractors do the same
+ Assist in ensuring Company equipment is properly maintained through daily maintenance
+ Complete daily paperwork such as field reports and schedule updates in a timely and efficient manner
+ Conduct and/or attend project and staff meetings, including toolbox safety talks and training, as required
+ Keep superintendent and/or general foreman informed of all issues related to safety, employee relations, etc. and take corrective action as needed
+ Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
Essential Skills and Experience:
+ Extensive knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, regulations, machinery, tools and equipment used in area of work
+ Knowledge of different concrete work (pavement, floors, slipform, and different finishing applications)
+ Knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures
+ Ability to effectively supervise other employees
+ Ability to read plan drawings and understand specifications
+ Ability and willingness to learn how to operate various types of technology including; but not limited to: HCSS/Heavy Job, iPhone, iPad
+ Demonstrate adequate administrative skills including, but not limited to: accurate data entry, documentation and writing, paperwork management

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and expected to be used to protect the employee when exposed to harmful environments.
