Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs final surface inspection and conditioning of forged parts prior to shipment to customer.Applies in process identification to products per instructions.Conditions surface of in process parts.Operates hand grinding machine and observes operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction. Changes wheels and parts as trained.Measure’s part dimensions to determine accuracy of grinding operation.Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from part.Maintains work area daily to be clean and free of safety hazards.Performs other routine duties.Required Skills:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Experience & Education
