Company Overview

Teledyne e2v is a global leader in specialised components and subsystems for innovative solutions in medical, science, aerospace, defence, and industrial applications. The imaging sensors developed and tested at the Chelmsford site have been used on humanities most important space imaging missions. These include the Hubble Telescope, Keplar, GAIA, Mars Rovers, New Horizons, and Rosetta to name but a few. 

Space Imaging is expanding its portfolio of projects to develop electronic systems and full payloads for Space applications.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The Configuration Coordinator is required to provide support to the Business Unit, ensuring configuration of project documentation and product build standards is maintained. Working closely with mechanical, electronic and sensor design functions as well as projects to manage and control product data for all company deliverables. Close relationships are essential with Quality, Manufacturing and Procurement to ensure all product definitions fulfil both the company and customer requirements. 

Configuration control outlines the process for management of change throughout the duration of a project. It encapsulates methods for change proposals and justification, evaluation of the proposal, valuation of impacts, the approval or disapproval of changes, and the implementation of the changes. Configuration control ensures that any deviations from configuration baselines are processed and implemented in a methodical and logical manner that is fully traceable. Duties include:

Perform all configuration administration duties as directed by the Project Director, Product Assurance Manager and Quality & Operational Excellence Manager to meet the needs of the project consortium data management.

Support in the creation/administration of all deliverable documents and datapacks required for the project and project consortium (including the use of the project specific FTP servers).

Use and manage external web-based tools for the delivery of data to and from customers and sub-contractors.

Ensure all documents for the project and project consortium have references, class of document, status (draft or approved), confidentiality level, date and issue and revision numbers and distribution lists, following the configuration management plan.

Manage the distribution of formal communications, ensuring all recipients are documented and tracked (including the administration of Teledyne e2v communication server) for all project and project consortium documentation.

Ensure annexes and/or attachments to all delivered documents are an integral part of the delivered document., whilst ensuring all annexed document or attachment are delivered in parallel as self-standing document with references, issue and revision numbers.

Maintain the Project Directory, identifying participating personnel per company, their functions and contact details.

Maintain the Document List, recording all the documents produced during the work, including reports, specifications, plans and minutes, under configuration control.

Ensure the Document List indicates the document reference (with unique identifier), type of document, date of issue, status (draft or approved by the Agency), confidentiality level and distribution and the distribution dates of the latest version of each document to the Customer.

Maintain and administer all review comments from project documents across all project and project consortium reviews.

Monitor and maintain the project consortium email folder to ensure traceability of all emails in accordance with the project requirements.

Skills & Experience Essential Qualifications:

The ability to learn quickly, good communication skills (written and verbal) fluent English (written & verbal) are a distinct advantage.

An eye for detail and able to apply that with integrity and respect to engineering data, drawings and models.

Willing, supportive and helpful attitude, along with a calm professional manner, with the ability to set priorities and deal with multiple issues with multiple stakeholders is also an advantage.

Desired Qualifications

Ideally a background in Configuration Control or Technical Data Management.

Experience in interpreting technical data and Bills of Materials for large and complex assemblies.

Ideally you will have experience of Windchill as a Product Lifecycle Management tool.
