Configuration Data Manager, Journeyman

Performs somewhat complex to complex configuration and data management assignments, requiring use of applied concepts, principles, theories, practices, and techniques.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

Apply knowledge of the fundamentals of configuration management to establish and maintain consistency of a product’s performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life  Assist in the development and management of all CDRL requirements.  Participates in Government reviews/meetings/working groups as applicable and in Government and industry teams for the resolution of complex configuration management issues.  Provide assistance in the preparation and maintenance of CDRLs for inclusion in weapon system contractor RFPs, contracts, and contract modifications.   Assist in reviewing and evaluating OEM proposals and reports for configuration status accounting of assigned systems/subsystem(s) and compliance with Government technical data requirements. Provide support to the DR function operation of the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS) or similar system for originating, to include assisting with receiving, processing and tracking DRs; establishing and maintaining DR/Material Improvement Project (MIP) files and databases; providing disposition instruction for exhibits; and assisting in the planning and conduct of MIP Review Board meetings.   Assist with establishing and maintaining databases and assist in the development and analysis of key program metrics. Develops and integrates risk management plans and strategies and support program briefings.  Assist in generating and managing configuration management, data management, and risk management processes and plans; support environmental assessments, support design reviews, TIMs, interface control meetings, program management reviews, audits and other technical reviews; and have thorough knowledge of DR procedures and processes.
